Diva Challenge #250 - "Bringing it Back to the Old School"

In der Diva Challenge geht es diese Woche darum, einmal zu den Wurzeln zurückzukehren und ganz einfach und schlicht eine Normal-Kachel zu tangeln: weiße Kachel, Fineliner, Bleistift, sonst nichts, keinen Plan, keine Überlegeungen, einfach drauf los.

In letzter Zeit sind so viele Spezielitäten in den Foren, Büchern und Challenges aufgetaucht: farbige Kacheln, verschiedene Größen und Formen, alle möglichen farbigen Stifte. Der Grundgedanke scheint manchmal verloren zu gehen.

Laura schreibt: "Sometimes, it stresses me out to think of all the things i should be *TRYING*.  Don't get me wrong, i love looking at everything people are doing.  the creativity of people amazes me.  But sometimes.  Sometimes i think of that simpler time when zentangle was one size.  One pen.  One Pencil.  One Ceremony.
Part of the reason that i fell in love with tangling in the first place was that it took away those obstacles that prevented me from starting.  The elegance of limitations, as Rick would say.
When i begin a tile for a challenge, now i think: "What size should i use? What colour? What pen? What shape?" and i often find myself skipping over that ceremony of zentangle that helped me find my calm space.
So.  This week's challenge is for us to go back to the roots of this Zentangle thing."

Sie spricht mir aus der Seele. Ich bin einmal zu meinen eigenen Anfängen zurückgegangen. Ich habe vor etwa zwei Jahren mit dem Tangeln angefangen. Ich hatte das Buch "One Zentangle a day" zu Weihnachten bekommen. Die erste Übung für den ersten Tag sah vor, eine Kachel mit den Mustern static, tipple und crescent moon zu gestalten. Meine sah so aus:

I went back to my own roots. I started tangling about two years ago. The book "One Zentangle a day" had been a Chrismas present. The first lesson for the first day was to use the patterns static, tipple and crescent moon to create a tile and to get used to the materials. I tangled in a scetch book. And my first "tile" looked like this:

Gestern habe ich mich hingesetzt und mich der gleichen Aufgabe noch einmal gestellt, die gleichen Muster. Als string habe ich ein "2" genommen - für meine zwei Jahre Zentangle. Ich hab einfach drauflos gezeichnet und vor allem ist mir aufgefallen, mit welcher Leichtigkeit ich jetzt die Muster variieren und anpassen kann, wie sie ineinnader übergehen. Und das Schattieren: am Anfang hatte ich Angst davor, jetzt liebe ich es!!! Wenn ich mir die beiden Kacheln ansehe, dann sehe ich einen Weg, die größere Freiheit, Erfahrung und Sicherheit ... und ich bin dankbar.

Gestern habe ich zufällig entdeckt dass "Ragged Ray" die Aufgabe der Diva genauso angegangen ist wie ich und offenbar auch mit dem gleichen Buch angefangen hat. Auch er zeigt seine allererste Kachel (die meiner ersten sehr ähnlich sieht) und beschreibt ganz ähnliche Eindrücke wir ich sie hatte. Seinen Eintrag findest du hier.

Yesterday I decided to do the same thing again. I chose the same patterns and a "2" for a string - for my two years of tangling. I just tangled away. I especially noticed the ease I felt varying the patterns and letting them grow into one another. And the shading!!!! I had been afraid of shading in the beginning but now I love it!! Looking at the two tiles I can see a journey, the experience, the confidence, the freedom ... and I'm grateful.

Today in the morning I noticed that Ragged Ray did the same thing. He obviously started his "Zentangle-journey" with the same book and made a quite similar experience tangling his tile for this challenge. Look at his entry here.
